BRITTANY BLUE BRONCO: Where Modern Power Meets Classic Styling

Written by Nicole Ellan James

2024 PALM BEACH AUCTION – 1973 FORD BRONCO CUSTOM SUV – NO RESERVE

In the realm of collector vehicles, few embody the blend of power, style and ruggedness quite like this custom 1973 Ford Bronco offered with No Reserve during the 2024 Palm Beach Auction, April 18-20 at the South Florida Fairgrounds. But what sets this particular Bronco apart from the rest isn’t just its vintage charm – it’s the sheer performance that lies beneath its satin matte Brittany Blue exterior.

Under the hood roars a Whipple-supercharged Boss 302 Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine, unleashing an earth-shaking 569 horsepower on command. Paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and an Atlas transfer case with twin-stick 4-wheel-drive selection, this Bronco is ready to conquer any terrain that dares to challenge it, making it a capable off-road machine.

But power is just the beginning. This Bronco boasts a fully customized chassis, that features a meticulously engineered suspension system composed of a Currie rear end and Currie high-pinion Dana 44 front end that provide enhanced strength and reliability, crucial for tackling challenging terrain. Additionally, it makes use of 4-link heim joints from Johnny Joint. These offer excellent articulation, allowing each wheel to move independently, which is essential for off-road driving. The setup is complete with King adjustable coilovers with reservoirs, making this Bronco capable of gliding over obstacles with ease, while maintaining precise control and stability.

Stopping power is equally impressive, thanks to 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes with hydro-boost precision. Whether navigating city streets or blazing new trails, this Bronco comes to a halt with confidence and authority.

It’s not just what’s under the hood that makes this Bronco so cool – it’s the attention to detail that sets it apart. The handmade hood retains the stock appearance while providing clearance for the supercharger, and the windshield has been recessed for a sleek, streamlined look. Custom-built bumpers, designed to accommodate an 8,000-pound winch, add both functionality and style to the exterior. And let’s talk about the lighting – a Vison X Lighting package and underbody LEDs not only illuminate the darkest trails but also give this Bronco a menacing presence that commands attention wherever it goes.

Inside, the custom interior blends luxury and craftsmanship. Hand-selected premium leather hides with hand-stitched Ferrari pattern seats offer both comfort and style, while a custom roll bar provides added safety and security for when the trail gets a little dicey. A handmade aluminum console with courtesy LED lighting and cupholders adds a touch of modern convenience, while power windows and a tilt column with a mahogany-rimmed steering wheel give a nod to the Bronco’s vintage roots.

The interior isn’t just about good looks; it offers many modern creature comforts to keep the driver and passengers comfortable on those long trail days. This Bronco is equipped with a Vintage Air system to maintain the perfect cabin temperature, while LED backlit retro gauges provide essential information at a glance. Custom German square-weave carpet with LED footwell lighting adds a touch of elegance to the interior, while AMP Research retractable steps make getting in and out a breeze.

With only 765 miles since its completion, this custom 1973 Ford Bronco is more than just a vehicle – it’s an adventure waiting to happen for one lucky bidder at the Palm Beach Auction. From its powerful engine to its luxurious interior, every detail has been carefully crafted to create a unique driving experience. Whether you’re hitting the trails or turning heads on the streets, this Brittany Blue beauty is sure to leave a lasting impression wherever you go. Register to bid today.

Beach Boy: A surf-ready Yamaha WR155R scrambler from Thailand

Yamaha WR155R scrambler by Dream Fast Co.
A surfboard rack on a motorcycle might seem like a gimmick to some, but if you live in Bali and love surfing, it’s a downright necessity. The Indonesian island is peppered with surf spots—and a small bike with a rack is the best way to get to them. It doesn’t hurt if that motorcycle looks as good as this Yamaha WR155R scrambler.

The bike was built by Dream Fast Co. for Tiw, the founder of the Laem Yah Rayong Surf Club. Both parties are based in Thailand, but the influence came directly from Bali’s motorcycle and surf culture. Tiw has Balinese friends who use vintage enduro bikes to find hard-to-reach surf spots, and wanted to capture that vibe in his Yamaha WR155R.

Dream Fast Co.’s mandate was to take the modern and reliable WR155R and inject it with a big dose of classic Yamaha dirt bike style. It sounds simple enough on paper, but in reality, it meant wading through piles of plastic to shed the WR155R’s contemporary aesthetic.

Once the Yamaha was denuded of its plastics, the Dream Fast Co. crew set about reworking its lines. The subframe was hacked off, and a new one was fabricated, this time with a kicked-up loop at the back. A new seat sits up top; it’s designed for one, but there is a smidge of space out back if you and your passenger want to get extremely cozy.
