The welt is a strip of leather that is stitched around the outer edge of the shoe and then onto the insole, the outsole is then sewn to the welt, giving a durable, hardy, and water-resistant construction. In this collection the shoe is made with less cork across the part of the shoe that naturally bends with each step, giving a flexible sole from day 1. The shoes can be re-soled, making this a sustainable footwear choice too.
