Taylor Swift has called out the “invasive” comments about Lady Gaga in a public message on social media.

Rumours the pop superstar was pregnant started after photos emerged of her attending her sister’s wedding. Lady Gaga quickly silenced that speculation.

“Not pregnant – just down and cryin at the gym,” she quoted Swift’s song Down Bad.

Now Swift herself has chimed in to defend Lady Gaga.

“Can we all agree that its invasive & irresponsible to comment on a woman’s body,” the Cruel Summer singer commented on the star’s TikTok video.

“Gaga doesn’t owe anyone an explanation & neither does any woman,” she concluded.

The comment has received more than 144,100 likes in its first four hours since being posted.

Speaking to the outlet the singer recalled reading the headline ‘Pregnant at 18?’ on her first ever magazine cover as a teen

Swift said the headline, which she “registered that as a punishment”, was because her stomach didn’t look flat in the photograph.

The singer then recalled being praised for fitting into sample sizes on other magazine shoots and viewing that as a “pat on the head”.

“You register that enough times, and you just start to accommodate everything towards praise and punishment, including your own body,” she said.

Back in 2014, Gaga praised Swift for her authenticity during an interview with Howard Stern after an interaction they had at the American Music Awards.

Gaga recalled not believing Swift who said she loved the songs ARTPOP and Applause until a friend called from a set where Swift was “blasting” the songs.

“And I said to myself, ‘I like this girl.’ You know why? Because she said the same thing to my face that she said behind my back.”

The Longest Oscar-Winning Movie Is Actually a Miniseries

Over the course of the last several decades, the line between television and film has become blurred. While traditionally there was a notable budget and quality difference between the two mediums, many of the best modern drama shows like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, or Mad Men reached a level of quality and significant resources that rivaled many of the smaller films in theaters. Additionally, the growing serialization of blockbuster films, particularly those in the superhero genre, has made many big-screen events feel like just episodes of a prolonged serialized narrative.
